There has been an outpouring of grief on social media following the passing of a well-known fixture in downtown St. John’s.

Stevie Lane was known in the downtown for his delightful dancing in the bars, and sometimes even on stage.

After news of his passing broke on social media, many took to sharing memories of the local celebrity—commenting on his gentlemanly demeanour and lightning-quick feet.

The George Street Association says Lane brought smiles wherever he went, and that he won’t be forgotten.
